COLLEGE CAMPUS AND BUILDINGSThe St. Clair County Community College campus is located on 25 acres in Port Huron's downtown area.
The historic Main Building houses most of the college's administrative offices, such as enrollment services, financial aid, student services, business office, college advancement and community relations, and the office of the president. The four-story Main Building also includes classrooms and offices for several academic departments.
UPDATE 08-04-2004: Enrollment services, Financial Aid, Career and Counseling, Student Services and the Recruitment Office are now located in the Acheson Center (see below). The Enrichment Center, Business Office, College Advancement and the President's Office are located in the Main Building.
The North Building includes the gymnasium, which is used for intercollegiate athletics, intramural sports, and physical education classes; offices for several academic departments; and classrooms.
The Clara E. Mackenzie (CEM) Library-Science Building houses the learning resources center, science labs, classrooms, faculty offices, and a lecture hall.
The A.J. Theisen Science and Technological Center (often called the "AJT" or "Theisen Building") includes classrooms and faculty offices for communication design and computer and office technology, as well as open computer labs and the college's technology services department.
The College Center houses the cafeteria, bookstore, student newspaper and student government offices, multi-purpose areas for meetings and events, and two classrooms.
The Fine Arts Building includes an auditorium with stage, television and radio studios, art gallery space, music practice rooms, a band and choir rehearsal hall, and separate areas devoted to all phases of art and communication media programs.
The Dr. Edward G. Acheson Applied Technology Center ("Acheson Center" or "ATC") houses many of SC4's vocational-technical programs as well as police and fire training and the SC4 University Center.
UPDATE
08-04-2004: Enrollment services, Financial Aid, Career and
Counseling, Student Services and the Recruitment Office are now located in the
Acheson Center. The Citizens First Michigan Technical Education Center
(M-TEC) is SC4's most recent addition. Opened in summer 2001, M-TEC is
a state-of-the-art facility for business and industry training. The
building houses computer labs, multi-media classrooms, and corporate
meeting room and event space. M-TEC also houses a childcare center,
operated by the Economic Opportunity Committee of St. Clair County, and
the offices of St. Clair County's Economic Development Alliance.
