AGR 110 Farm and Agri-Business Management. This course offers a practical application of management skills, with emphasis on the use of credit and on obtaining financing for farming and agri-business.

AGR 122 Elevator And Agricultural Supply. The focus of this course is on merchandising agriculture supplies and farm products, in addition to a study of plant layout, equipment, and future trading in agricultural commodities.

AGR 123 Livestock Production. This is a general course in livestock production as it relates to modern agricultural methods. Emphasis is placed on nutrition, breeds, breeding selection, diseases, marketing, grades, grading, management and housing.

AGR 126 Garden and Landscape Maintenance. The establishment and maintenance of a garden, flower bed, and home landscape is an integral part of this course. Areas covered will include garden soils, organic matter, pest control, starting plants, transplanting, fertilizing, irrigation, shrub and tree maintenance, lawn care and management.

AGR 150 Agriculture Placement Training. A twelve week work experience intern program is an important part of this course. This placement training offers an intensive but varied experience in all phases of the industry. Students will be under supervision of the employer and the course coordinator. Each 80 hours of placement training fulfills 1 credit hour.

AGR 201 Agriculture Crop Production. A discussion and analysis of production practices of crops from seed to marketing is featured, along with choice of variety and fertilizer, planting, harvesting, and storage practices. Emphasis on the problems involved in equipment used will also be stressed, as will methods and practical techniques of crop plant reproduction.

AGR 202 Agriculture Pests/Pesticides. The principles of agricultural pest identification, general life histories and controls are presented. In addition, the principles/practices of handling and using pesticides and their legal implications are also discussed.

AGR 203 Introduction To Soils. This course presents a study of the physical properties of soils: their structure, texture, composition, organic matter, water and air. Students will evaluate soils, recognize their physical characteristics, and relate them to use, management, and productivity.

AGR 204 Soils and Nutrient Supply. Advanced principles of nutrient supply, soil fertility, soil testing, tillage, and conservation practices to maintain a highly productive soil are the focus of this course.

AGR 205 Introduction To Horticulture. A study of plant physiology, the principles of plant propagation, and the responses of plants to environmental conditions is the focus of this course.

AGR 206 Applied Horticulture. This course offers a study of the practical application of horticultural principles, which includes areas of propagation, selection, and care of ornamental plants. Shrub and tree care, fruit production, and landscaping will also be studied.

AGR 207 Greenhouse and Nursery Management. This is a practical management course designed to acquaint students with the operation of a greenhouse or nursery. Areas of study include pest control, temperature and humidity control, shading, light control, purchasing of supplies and materials, merchandising, structures, and how to design a time schedule to meet the needs of a retail business.

AGR 221 Animal Feeds. The principles and practices of feeding livestock are studied. Emphasis is placed on rations and nutrition.
