St. Clair County Community College’s Visual and Performing Arts Department presents a variety of art shows in the college’s Fine Arts Galleries.

Unless otherwise noted, exhibit hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays. Admission is free.

Aug. 20 to Oct. 3

“Transitions” by Jill Rowan

Reception: 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 5

Jill Rowan, a graduate of the Cranbrook Academy of Art, is a new member of the SC4 adjunct faculty teaching ceramics. Her work is intense in form and color; she also is an accomplished two-dimensional artist working in charcoal, watercolor and oil.

by Mark Rummel’s students

Mark Rummel is a professional photographer who also teaches photography as an adjunct instructor at SC4. He is talented and energetic and is masterful at getting results from his students.

Blue Water Young Professionals’ Art Hop

Throughout downtown Port Huron

Start by touring the SC4 Fine Arts Galleries, with live entertainment, refreshments and art for sale. Then, catch the trolley to complete the tour around downtown. Artists will have work for sale at all locations.

Patterns Awards Ceremony and Reception

SC4 Fine Arts Theatre and College Center Atrium

This event focuses on the written word and the visual arts. It is the culmination of a year’s work as the annual Patterns magazine is published with the winning entries from many categories of writing and art. Published students will be honored, and the artwork will be displayed in the Fine Arts Galleries.
