| St. Clair County Community College’s 83rd annual Commencement ceremony Friday, May 4, 2007, honored graduating students in six associate degree programs and numerous certificate programs. The event at McMorran Arena in Port Huron featured alternative energy leader James A. Croce, chief executive officer of NextEnergy Center in Detroit. Croce manages business strategy, leadership initiatives and government relations for NextEnergy Center, a non-profit corporation dedicated to implementing an economic development strategy for Michigan to accelerate research, development and manufacturing of alternative energy technologies. SC4 students earned associate degrees in arts, science, engineering, general education, business, and applied arts and science. The college had 619 students eligible to graduate. Also participating in the ceremony was SC4 University Center partner Saginaw Valley State University, whose students earned bachelor of arts in elementary education degrees and elementary teacher certifications.
