St. Clair County Community College’s 85th annual Commencement ceremony Friday, May 8, 2009, honored graduating students in six associate degree programs and numerous certificate programs. The event at McMorran Place Main Arena in Port Huron featured Richard P. “Rich” Elsner as its keynote speaker. Elsner graduated that night with an associate in applied arts and science degree in management from SC4. He plans to pursue a bachelor’s degree in business management through Walsh College. Elsner of Port Huron Township was selected as Commencement speaker through a nomination and interview process involving SC4’s faculty and Commencement Planning Committee. SC4 students earned associate degrees in arts, science, engineering, general education, business, and applied arts and science. The college had 602 students eligible to graduate. The SC4 Commencement ceremony will be aired on Comcast Channel 12 at: - 10 a.m. and noon Saturday, May 16.
