Student e-mail account instructions

GETTING YOUR E-MAIL ACCOUNT

All students must activate their e-mail accounts. You will be assigned an SC4 e-mail account within 24 hours of completing the registration process for credit programs. Accounts will be inactivated after 24 months of discontinued enrollment.

  • The first time you go to login, you will need to create a password by clicking on the (Create or Reset Password) link above the login box and filling in the information requested. (Passwords must include at least one number, one special character and one uppercase letter.)

  • Your username is the same as your WAVE user ID (usually your first initial and your last name). If you have a common last name, your username may include numbers. (i.e. If your name is Joe Smith, your username could be “jsmith” or “jsmith23456.”)

    • If you are unsure what your username is:
      • Go to www.sc4.edu/wave.
      • Click on the blue "My Account Information" link.
      • Click on "What’s my User Name?"
      • Follow the instructions.
  • Your e-mail address is your WAVE user ID followed by @student.sc4.edu. (For example, if your WAVE user ID is msmith, your e-mail address will be msmith@student.sc4.edu.)
  • You will be allocated 30 megabytes of space in your e-mail account. Once you exceed the limit, you will receive messages stating you are over your allocated space and you will not be able to send or receive messages.

ACCEPTABLE USE

SC4 e-mail service is available to all students enrolled for credit. Students are bound in their use of this e-mail service by the Acceptable Use Policy found in the College Catalog. Appropriate uses of this service include communicating with: 

  • Faculty regarding coursework, as approved by the instructor.
  • College staff regarding the enrollment process, account status or any other administrative process.
  • Classmates regarding course and campus activities.
