St. Clair County Community College has named two students to its 2014 All-SC4 Academic Team to represent the college in a national contest.A panel of faculty members chose academic team members Kathy Brady of Harsens Island and Steven Lucas of St. Clair Township to represent SC4 at the All-USA Academic Competition. By competing in the All-USA contest, they automatically were named to the All-Michigan Academic Team and honored at a luncheon in Lansing.Brady has a degree in visual communications and graphic design from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. She has worked for numerous print publications, including 18 years at the Macomb Daily. She is currently working toward her goal of becoming a pediatric nurse. Kathy and her husband own and operate a boating charter business off Harsens Island and have a 21-year old son. Lucas is pursuing a duel degree in business and accounting at SC4 and plans to transfer to Walsh College after graduation. He completed 36 credit hours in 2013 while maintaining a 3.97 average. He is married with two children. He is a Co-Divisional Coordinator for Marysville Little League, Challenger Division, which serves children with disabilities. He is retired from the U.S. Navy and was recalled for Operation Iraqi Freedom. Independent judges review the All-USA applications and select 20-member First, Second and Third Teams.
