  • SC4 Philosophy Discipline, Blue Water Sierra Club to host lecture on nuclear industry and the Great Lakes

    St. Clair County Community College’s Philosophy Discipline and the Blue Water Sierra Club will host a presentation by Dr. Gordon Edwards on the nuclear industry and the Great Lakes at 7 p.m. Monday, April 14, in Room 201 of the college’s Clara E. Mackenzie Building.

    The presentation, “Lake Huron Nuclear Dump: Abandonment of Radioactive Waste and Alternatives,” will discuss the nuclear industry and how it effects the Great Lakes.

    Dr. Edwards co-founded the Canadian Coalition for Nuclear Responsibility in 1975, and has been its president since 1978. Edwards has worked widely as a consultant on nuclear issues. He teaches mathematics at Vanier College in Montreal.
