SC4’s campus will serve as host to the Give Where You Live 2014 Day of Giving on May 6.
Give Where You Live is a national event that provides nonprofits the opportunity to gain exposure to – and start relationships with – new donors, and for people in our region to come together to raise as much money as possible for local nonprofits.
Spearheaded by the Community Foundation of St. Clair County, 65 area nonprofit organizations will be stationed on the SC4 Greenway. Each organization will be seeking to raise awareness and funds for their specific causes.
The SC4 Alumni Association will be among the organizations, working to raise funds to benefit the association and the Diane Obee Memorial Scholarship Fund. Diane, who passed away this past January, was the wife of Tom Obee, SC4 professor emeritus and current alumni board member.
Plan to support your favorite nonprofit between 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, May 6, by donating online at www.givewhereyoulive2014.org or in person by visiting the tent on the SC4 Greenway. Every donation made on giving day will earn matching funds from national and local sources.
For more information on how you may participate, visit the SC4 Alumni Association website, the SC4 Alumni Association’s Facebook page or call Gigi Mericka, SC4 Development and Alumni Coordinator at (810) 937-2707.For a list of registered nonprofits, FAQ’s and details visit the Community Foundation of St. Clair County’s website and click on Give Where You Live.
This day is sure to be the biggest day of giving in our community’s history.
