SC4 to host Blue Water Business Conference and Expo

Registration is open for the Blue Water Business Conference and Expo, which is from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Thursday, June 7, on St. Clair County Community College’s Port Huron campus.

The one-day conference is designed to provide area businesses, planners and economic developers the opportunity to participate in professional development and networking activities that will lead to economic viability for the region.

The day includes keynote speeches by James B. Rogers of Southeast Michigan Council of Governments and Christine Farrah of Blue Cross Blue Shield, panel discussions and professional development seminars.

Michelle Mueller, SC4 dean of workforce development and University Center, said the event gives people a chance to network with business professionals from all over southeast Michigan. “If they want to expand their business, it’s a good opportunity to hear from other people who have found success with similar experiences.”

The event is presented by the college, Greater Port Huron Area Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development Alliance of St. Clair County.

St. Clair County companies can reserve promotional tables at the event. Cost is $100 for EDA and chamber members and $150 for nonmembers. The cost includes entrance to all professional development presentations, continental breakfast, lunch, networking reception and table in the exhibition area. The table registration deadline is May 23.

General admission is $25 and includes breakfast, lunch, presentations and reception. To register, call (810) 989-5749 or visit www.sc4.edu/expo . Registration deadline is May 30.

Founded in 1923, St. Clair County Community College serves students with a variety of on-campus and online classes. Through its University Center partners, the college makes bachelor’s and master’s degrees available.
