SC4 students awarded alumni association scholarships

Editor’s note: Student Mitchell Martin of Fort Gratiot was misidentified in the original news release about the SC4 Alumni Association scholarship Aug. 9. The corrected student recipient list is below.

Four St. Clair County Community College students have been awarded the SC4 Alumni Association scholarship for 2007-08.

The scholarships are given to incoming freshmen who meet certain criteria, which include being a full-time student with a minimum 3.0 high school grade point average and maintaining a 3.0 grade point average at SC4. The scholarship is renewable for a second year for students who continue to meet those criteria. Selection is based on academic excellence, financial need and community involvement or extracurricular activities. The award is $1,000 per year.

The students are:

  • Trenten Barr of Croswell.
  • Kaitlin Brown of Yale (scholarship renewed for second year).
  • Mitchell Martin of Fort Gratiot.
  • Kenisha Williams of Port Huron (scholarship renewed for second year).
