SC4's The Spiral Studio to feature college instructor

St. Clair County Community College’s The Spiral Studio this month features SC4 art instructor Holly Pennington, who will work on creating drawings.

The Spiral Studio is 300 square feet of workspace at Studio 1219 in Port Huron for SC4 students, faculty and alumni. Each month, an SC4 art instructor or alumni artist is featured working in the studio.

SC4 students and alumni are welcome to use the studio to create their own work, converse with the guest artist, and network with fellow students and artists at Studio 1219. The public is welcome to visit and discuss art with The Spiral Studio artists.

Pennington, 54, of Fort Gratiot has taught drawing at SC4 since 1986. She earned her bachelor of fine arts and master of fine arts degrees with concentrations in drawing from Eastern Michigan University.

The Spiral Studio and Studio 1219 hours are noon to 5 p.m. Sunday and Wednesday and noon to 8 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
