SC4 to host Martin Luther King Jr. Day Celebration

St. Clair County Community College will present its sixth annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day Celebration at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 21, in the college’s Fine Arts Theatre on the Port Huron campus.

The event will feature a musical and dramatic celebration of Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy with a diverse variety of musicians, musical styles, dramatic performances and dance.

Master of ceremonies will be Randy Fernandez, Port Huron city assessor.

Remarks will be given by Dr. Rose B. Bellanca, president, St. Clair County Community College; Jerilynn Brown, president, Port Huron branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People; state Rep. John Espinoza, D-Croswell, 83rd District; and Port Huron Mayor Brian Moeller.

Admission is free. The festivities are sponsored by the Port Huron branch of the NAACP, St. Clair County Community College and the Times Herald.
