SC4 art show to celebrate 50 years of Patterns

As part of the 50th anniversary of Patterns, a literary and arts publication featuring work from St. Clair County Community College students, SC4 will have an art show Monday, April 7, through Sunday, April 27.

The show, “Visual Artists Then and Now,” will include new artwork from artists featured in the publication over the past 49 years. The show will be in the Fine Arts Galleries on the college’s Port Huron campus.

Galleries are open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

A reception to celebrate the release of the 50th edition of Patterns is planned for 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, April 27, in SC4’s Fine Arts Theatre and College Center Atrium.

The event will feature readings from three guest authors, including Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Franz Wright and authors Michael Perry and Mike Magnuson. Copies of Patterns will be available.

All events are free.

For details about the art show or the reception, call (810) 989-5709 or visit www.sc4.edu/arts.
