SC4 Commencement ceremony planned for May 9

St. Clair County Community College’s 84th annual Commencement ceremony will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday, May 9, in McMorran Place Main Arena, 701 McMorran Blvd., Port Huron.

The Commencement ceremony is open to the public. No tickets are required.

Casandra Ulbrich, an elected member of the Michigan Board of Education and an SC4 alumma, will serve as keynote speaker for the ceremony.

Ulbrich is director of corporate and foundation relations at Wayne State University in Detroit and is in her second year of an eight-year term on the state Board of Education. The board is responsible for creating policies and procedures for education in Michigan.

Ulbrich earned her associate degree from SC4 in 1994. She went on to earn a bachelor of arts degree in political science from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and a master’s degree in communication from Wayne State. She nearly has completed her doctorate in communications at Wayne State.

SC4 has 625 students eligible to graduate.
