SC4 Honor Society wins top state awards

The St. Clair County Community College (SC4) Lambda Mu chapter of Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) International Honor Society was recognized once again as the top chapter in the Michigan Region, an honor it has held consistently since 1994. The SC4 student group was honored May 20-22 at the Michigan Region Convention at Montcalm Community College in Sydney, Michigan.

The Lambda Mu Chapter was also named a Five Star Chapter, a recognition it has received every year since 1991. In addition, the chapter again won the Region’s most prestigious award, the Scholarship Hallmark Award. The SC4 group placed second in the Leadership Hallmark and third in the Service and Fellowship Hallmark categories.

SC4’s Phi Theta Kappa President Douglas Campbell of Fort Gratiot was named one of three Distinguished Chapter Presidents in Michigan, an honor he also received on the international level in April.

The St. Clair County Community College chapter was also recognized for its contributions to the Michigan Region Service Project, the “Auction for a Cure” for the American Cancer Society.
