SC4’s The Spiral Studio to feature local artist

St. Clair County Community College’s The Spiral Studio in May will feature former SC4 art instructor Lezly Straub, who will work on watercolors and graphite art.

The Spiral Studio is 300 square feet of workspace at Studio 1219 in Port Huron for SC4 students, faculty and alumni. Each month, an SC4 art instructor or alumni artist is featured working in the studio.

SC4 students and alumni are welcome to use the studio to create their own work, converse with the guest artist, and network with fellow students and artists at Studio 1219. The public is welcome to visit and discuss art with The Spiral Studio artists.

Straub of Port Huron operates her own art business showing and selling her work at area shows. She also teaches at Studio 1219 and substitute teaches for the Port Huron Area School District. At SC4, she taught drawing classes. She earned her bachelor of business administration degree from Detroit College of Business.

The Spiral Studio and Studio 1219 hours are noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday and noon to 8 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

For details, call the college’s Visual and Performing Arts Department at (810) 989-5709 or visit www.sc4.edu/spiral.
