SC4 Potters Market seeks pottery pieces Guest potters are encouraged to apply for acceptance to St. Clair County Community College’s seventh annual Potters Market on Friday, Nov. 13; Saturday, Nov. 14; and Sunday, Nov. 15, on the college’s Port Huron campus. The college’s Visual and Performing Arts Department is sponsoring the event, which encourages students to understand the process of producing work and then developing an outlet for that work. The market will feature hand and pottery wheel pieces created by students, faculty and guest potters. Proceeds from the ceramic sales will benefit the artists and the college, with 15% of net proceeds going toward new equipment for the college’s ceramics program. Guest potters are encouraged to apply by submitting five slides or five .jpg computer file photos of their work on disc, the estimated number of pieces they will have available for the sale, and their name and contact information. Send the information by Friday, Oct. 23, to St. Clair County Community College, Attention: Potters Market, 323 Erie St., P.O. Box 5015, Port Huron, MI 48061-5015. For details, call Celeste Skalnek at (810) 650-0545. ###
