October 30, 2009 SC4 to host world champion speaker St. Clair County Community College will host Lance Miller, Toastmasters International 2005 World Champion of Public Speaking, on campus for a free public speaking event at noon Thursday, Nov. 12. The event will be in Room 150 of the college’s Citizens First Michigan Technical Education Center, corner of Erie Street and Glenwood Avenue, Port Huron. SC4, Toastmasters International and the Hi-Noon Toastmasters Club of Port Huron are sponsoring the event. While light refreshments will be served, Toastmasters invites participants to bring their own lunch to the event. Miller is a businessman and motivational speaker who will discuss how the Toastmaster program can help people succeed in leadership and communication. His will use stories from his own life to explain how Toastmasters provided him with success. He is president of Diesel TEK Inc., an environmental technology company that is providing new cost-effective solutions to the diesel industry. He is a professional speaker coach who has worked with many top Hollywood celebrities and Fortune 1,000 company executives. Miller will be in the Port Huron area on his way to serve as keynote speaker for the District 62 Toastmasters Conference in Bay City.
