SC4 to present film ‘Smoke Signals’

St. Clair County Community College’s International Cultural Education Committee will present the film Smoke Signals at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, April 1, in Room 201 of the Clara E. Mackenzie Building on the Port Huron campus.

Admission to the film is free.

The film was written, directed and acted completely by American Indians. It follows the story of Coeur d’Alene Indians who trek from their Idaho reservation to Phoenix to retrieve the ashes of one man’s estranged father. It was based on Sherman Alexie’s book The Lone Ranger and Tonto Fistfight in Heaven.

The film was released in 1998 and is rated PG-13 by the Motion Picture Association of America.
