SC4 to host quiz bowl competition Feb. 4

St. Clair County Community College and the SC4 Alumni Association will sponsor the 2012 Regional High School Quiz Bowl on Saturday, Feb. 4, in the North Building and Fine Arts Theatre on the college’s Port Huron campus.

Quiz bowl is a double-elimination competition testing students on a broad range of topics from history and mathematics to grammar and current events.

This year’s event includes teams from eight high schools: Algonac, Brown City, Capac, Carsonville-Port Sanilac, Croswell-Lexington, Peck, Port Huron Northern and Yale.

The winning schools in each of two divisions receive trophies, medals and scholarship awards.

Competition begins at 9 a.m., and the finals begin at 12:20 p.m.
