SC4 offering computer network technician program St. Clair County Community College is offering a computer network technician program on the college's Port Huron campus. The six-month program prepares students for certification exams to earn the industry standard Network+ Certification. CompTIA's Network+ program is designed to show that a technician is a competent networking professional. It is an international, vendor-neutral certification that proves a technician's competency in managing, maintaining, troubleshooting, installing and configuring basic network infrastructure. Certification will prepare students for jobs in the computer industry, including network administrator, network engineer or information technology specialist. Students must pass one exam to gain the network credential. Classes start every week. The program allows students to work at their own pace. Work in an open lab anytime from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Individual assistance is regularly available. Class fee includes textbooks, online study materials, practice tests, supplies and certification test voucher. Students must complete pre-assessment testing, including a basic computer skills assessment, at least one week prior to class start date.
