Information sessions scheduled for SC4 health information technology program
Two information sessions are planned at St. Clair County Community College in Port Huron for students interested in SC4's new health information technology program. The sessions will be from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 30, and 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 31, in Room 205/207 of the college's Citizens First Michigan Technical Education Center, corner of Erie Street and Glenwood Avenue. Students may attend either session to get information about careers in health information technology, program prerequisites, degree requirements and application process. The health information technology program will prepare students to work in a variety of health care settings to manage medical data. Health information technology is a rapidly growing field, with the number of jobs expected to increase 20% through 2018, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Health information technologists earn an average of $16.14 per hour in Michigan. For more information, visit www.sc4.edu/healthinformationtechnology or call (810) 989-5507. ###
