SC4 enhances marketing degree program

St. Clair County Community College has enhanced its marketing associate degree program to better prepare students for in-demand jobs.

The curriculum changes, which will begin with fall semester 2012 classes in August, are designed to better provide students with employable skills to prepare them for entry-level jobs in southeast Michigan. The program will prepare students to obtain jobs in retailing, sales, advertising, public relations and customer service.

The degree also provides a solid foundation for students to transfer to a four-year program at a college or university.

The changes include adding an applied marketing capstone course that will focus on the application of marketing concepts and principles to real world situations. In addition, the retailing class has been expanded to include a greater customer service component.

Students who previously selected the program from the College Catalog can choose to complete their degree following the old program or can elect to switch to the new curriculum.

For details about the degree, call the Business Administration Department at (810) 989-5575.

Registration for fall classes is open now. For registration and payment information, contact Enrollment Services at (810) 989-5500 or enrollment@sc4.edu.
