Information sessions set for SC4 radiologic technology program

Two information sessions are planned in June at St. Clair County Community College in Port Huron for students interested in SC4’s radiologic technology program.

The sessions will be from 11 a.m. to noon Monday, June 11, and 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 13, in Room 206 of the college’s Citizens First Michigan Technical Education Center, corner of Erie Street and Glenwood Avenue.

Students can attend either session to get information about careers in radiologic technology, program prerequisites, degree requirements and application process.

SC4’s associate of applied arts and science degree in radiologic technology will prepare students to work in hospital settings, physician offices, imaging centers and urgent care clinics to administer X-rays for diagnostic purposes.

Radiologic technology is a rapidly growing field, with the number of jobs expected to increase 17% through 2018, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Radiologic technologists earn an average of $23.55 per hour in Michigan.
