SC4 to offer Math Study Skills class

Returning adult students and incoming college freshmen are invited to take a Math Study Skills class in August at St. Clair County Community College.

The one-credit Math 195 course is being offered in an accelerated format to allow students to complete it prior to the start of the school year. The class focuses on how to be successful in math and improve skills students may have forgotten.

Taking the Math 195 class is especially encouraged for students planning to take SC4's Math 50 – Basic Mathematics or Math 75 – Pre-Algebra classes during the fall semester. The Math 195 class also is helpful for students who haven't taken a math class in a long time.

Students have three different schedule options for the class:

  • One-week daytime option — 9 a.m. to 12:50 p.m. Monday through Thursday, Aug. 13 through 16.
  • One-week evening option — 4 to 7:50 p.m. Monday through Thursday, Aug. 13 through 16.
  • Two-week option — 1 to 2:50 p.m. Monday through Thursday, Aug. 6 through 16.

To register for the class, visit www.sc4.edu/wave or call Enrollment Services at (810) 989-5500.
