SC4 to have auditions for Community Talent Showcase

The SC4 Alumni Association will have auditions Monday, July 9, for St. Clair County Community College's Community Talent Showcase. Finalists will perform during Blue Water Fest on Saturday, July 14, for the chance to win three prizes.

The showcase is open to singers, dancers, performers, instrumentalists and small acoustic ensembles.

Auditions will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 9, in Room 60 of SC4's Fine Arts Building. Entry fee is $15. Auditions will be limited to the first 50 acts on a first-come, first-served basis. Singers and dancers should bring their own background music.

The top 20 finalists will be invited to compete from noon to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, July 14, on the Blue Water Fest stage along the Black River east of the 10th Street Bridge in Port Huron.

First-place prize is $300, an exclusive meet and greet with former American Idol contestant Josh Gracin and the opportunity to open for the Blue Water Fest evening of music at 5 p.m. Saturday, July 14. Second-place prize is $100. Third-place prize is $50.

Donation envelopes will be available during auditions and finals to benefit SC4 music programs.
