Students awarded SC4 Board of Trustees grants, scholarships

Twenty-two students have been awarded St. Clair County Community College Board of Trustees grants or scholarships for 2012-13.

Among the recipients are:

SC4 Board of Trustees Scholarship – Awarded to one entering freshman from each of the 10 high schools within the SC4 district. Recommendations are made by high school counseling staff. Recipients must meet certain criteria, including having a minimum 3.0 high school grade point average, being enrolled at SC4 full time and maintaining a minimum 2.5 grade point average at SC4.

  • Lauren Culp of Fort Gratiot, $400.
  • Emalee Polczynski of China Township, $400.
  • Annemarie Prax of Port Huron, $400.
  • Ashley Smith of Marysville, $400.
  • Michelle Talaski of Ruth, $400.
  • The following student was granted a renewal of a previously awarded scholarship:
  • Barbara Wheeler of Port Huron, $400.

SC4 Board of Trustees Honors Scholarship – Awarded to any valedictorian or salutatorian of a high school within St. Clair, Sanilac, Lapeer or Huron counties. The award is renewable for a second year if the student maintains a minimum 3.0 grade point average and enrolls full time.

  • Cayla Essenburg of Memphis, $1,000.
  • Lauren Kimmerly of Smiths Creek, $1,000.
  • Jennifer Noble of Port Huron, $1,000.

  • Sara Thomas of Columbus Township, $400.
  • Ryan Westerhof of East China, $400.
