Purple Rose Theatre Company brings talents to SC4

On Friday, November 8, St. Clair County Community College (SC4) will offer a unique opportunity to student from nine area high schools. Jeff Daniels' Purple Rose Theatre Company of Chelsea, Michigan, will be on campus to conduct workshops on topics such as acting techniques, improvisation, voice and movement and professional tips.

Actor Jeff Daniels started the Purple Rose Theatre Company after moving back to Michigan in 1991. He wanted to offer a theatre company for the artist, the playwright and the playwriting process, similar to The Circle Repertory Company where Jeff got his start. The company provides education, script development and world premiere performances.

This is the 16th year the College has presented this day-long event designed for high school students interested in theatre. This year the festival will welcome over 150 students from Algonac, Marine City, Marysville, Memphis, Dryden, St. Clair, Sandusky and Lapeer East West.

For a schedule of the day's events or any other information, call Valerie Hoste, Public Relations Specialist at 810-989-5588 or email vhoste@sc4.edu.
