First SVSU education group will join SC4 graduates

The first graduates of Saginaw Valley State University's (SVSU) Port Huron Bachelor degree program will be honored on May 10, 2002. The thirty-one elementary and secondary education graduates will participate in St. Clair County Community College (SC4)'s 78th Commencement at McMorran arena. The public is invited to attend the 7:30 p.m. event.

The SVSU program through SC4's University Center in Port Huron, which began in 1999, allows students to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education or a Secondary or Elementary Teacher Certification.

SC4 President Dr. Ernest Dear will preside over the May 10 commencement exercises and SVSU Dean of College Education Ken Wahl will present the SVSU graduates with their certificates and degrees. "We are excited that our partnership with SVSU has culminated in this celebration for these graduates," said Anita Gliniecki, SC4 Vice President for Academic Services. "The program has become extremely popular for students wishing to go into the rewarding field of education."

For more information regarding SVSU Bachelor degree programs available locally, contact the SVSU Port Huron office at 810-982-5530.
