SC4 joins CompTIA to advance technology information

SC4’s Center for Business and Industry Training (CBIT) has become a member of CompTIA – the Computing Technology Industry Association.  In addition to providing a unified voice for the industry, CompTIA certifies information technology and service professionals.  The association will aid SC4 in providing vendor-neutral standards in certifications, e-commerce standards and workforce development to meet the industry-wide challenges.

CBIT Program Coordinator Bonnie DiNardo reports, “The CompTIA membership gives SC4 a direct link to the technology community, and we will be able to bring the latest technology information and resources to the Blue Water area.”   The membership also allows SC4 to provide  Prometric exam certification vouchers at discounted cost.

Demand is high for classes such as A+  and Network+ Certification, I-Net+ for Internet, Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), Microsoft Office User Specialist (MOUS) and technical support.  In addition to a wide range of computer and network training options, SC4 offers industrial seminars and classes to build leadership and management skills.    For a schedule of spring and summer classes, call the Center for Business and Industry Training at 810-989-5748.

St. Clair County Community College currently serves approximately 10,000 students in the Blue Water area with a wide range of credit and non-credit classes.  The College offers 51 Associate degree and Certificate programs and 55 seamless transfer program options.  A variety of Bachelor and Master degree programs are available locally through the SC4 University Center.  The College provides career development, personal and professional development, business and industrial training and community enrichment for citizens of all ages.  New resources include online and fast track courses.  The full-service, main campus is located in downtown Port Huron, with Thumb Area Centers located in Algonac, Bad Axe, Imlay City, Peck and Yale.  St. Clair County Community College is accredited by The Higher Learning Commission and is a member of the North Central Association.
