Two students at St. Clair County Community College in Port Huron were honored with Faculty Memorial Awards at the college’s 82nd annual Commencement ceremony Friday, May 5.

The awards were founded several years ago by Professor Richard Colwell, past chairman of the SC4 English Department. The awards are meant to recognize outstanding students and provide a moment at commencement to remember extraordinary educators who have passed away.

Winner of the 2006 Faculty Memorial award for a student who has completed two years at SC4 is Tanya Schantz of Kimball Township. Winner of the award for a returning SC4 student is Cory Christian of Capac.

Nominees for the 2006 Completing Student Award in addition to Schantz were:
