College Bookstore program benefits tree planting

The College Bookstore at St. Clair County Community College has partnered with The National Arbor Day Foundation and college bookstores across the country in an effort to plant 100,000 trees.

Through the Buy a Book, Build a Forest program, the College Bookstore throughout the school year will donate a portion of each used book sale or purchase to the National Arbor Day Foundation.

The foundation will use the money collected from used textbooks bought or sold from the participating schools to plant about 100,000 trees in the greater Yellowstone National Park region.

The campaign runs though February at the bookstore, located in the Acheson Technology Center on the college’s Port Huron campus.

The bookstore is managed and operated by Nebraska Book Co. Inc., which leases the store rights from SC4. Nebraska-owned stores across the country are participating in this event.
