St. Clair County Community College’s Workforce Training Institute will offer a workshop to help people determine the best locations for placing solar energy equipment.

The class, “Solar Site Assessment,” will be from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 15, on the college’s Port Huron campus.

Students will learn how to determine if possible locations for solar energy collection devices will receive sufficient energy during the course of a year to be cost effective.

Instructor Christina Snyder will use technology and 3-D modeling software to demonstrate the best sites for using solar energy.
