SC4 to offer workshop for beginning college instructors

St. Clair County Community College will offer a free workshop on tips for becoming a successful college instructor.

College Teaching 101: The Basics will be offered from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sept. 9, in Room 208 of the college’s North Building in Port Huron.

The workshop is designed for people who want to be a college instructor or have just started teaching college classes. It will offer practical tips and cover:

  • Planning a course.
  • Classroom management.
  • Creating effective quizzes and exams.

The instructor is Linda Flickinger, psychology professor and Social Science Department chair, who has more than 40 years of college classroom experience.

The workshop is presented by the Center for Excellence in Education at St. Clair County Community College.
