The St. Clair County Community College Fire and Emergency Services Institute on Saturday, Dec. 9, graduated the second group of students from its new firefighter academy program.

Fifteen students completed the program, which ran from September to November. The students were trained in firefighter certification, live burn interior firefighting, hazardous materials awareness and medical first-responder training.
