Who can apply to St. Clair County Community College?

Anyone who has completed high school or successfully passed the General Education Development (GED) test.
If you are a high school student who wants to take college classes while you're still in high school, contact Enrollment Services to discuss dual enrollment.
Former students who haven't attended SC4 within the last two calendar years are required to re-apply.

When should I apply to St. Clair County Community College?

If you are a high school student you may apply any time after finishing the 11th grade. Those already holding a high school diploma or equivalent may apply at any time. Everyone is encouraged to apply at least one month prior to the start of classes.

I want to be a high-school guest student, what do I need to do?

High School Guest Students must obtain a high school guest application from their high school counselor.

I attend another college and would like to be a guest student at SC4, what should I do?

Contact the Registrar's Office at your university for the Michigan Undergraduate Guest Application.

How do I apply for Financial Aid?

Complete and submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid to the Federal Processor. You are encouraged to submit your financial aid forms 6 months prior to date of attendance in order to receive full consideration.
Proof of high school graduation is required before financial aid can be awarded.

When will I hear something from St. Clair County Community College?

Notification of admission will be sent within two weeks of receipt of the application, and will include information concerning orientation and academic advising for classes and registration.

What is Orientation?

New students are required to complete an online orientation before their academic advising session. Academic advising, registration, student services and college policies are explained. Required reading, writing and math assessments are scheduled at this time.

What is Academic Advising?

As a new student at SC4, you are required to meet with an advisor to discuss your academic goals and appropriate course selection.

What is Registration?

Registration involves selecting a schedule of classes, with the assistance of an advisor. Tuition and fees are due at this time. For registration dates and times contact the Enrollment Services Office at (810) 989-5500 or (800) 553-2427, Ext. 5500; or visit www.sc4.edu/regcalendar.
