COMPASS testing

Taking assessment tests for math, reading, and writing is part of the enrollment process for SC4. The college uses COMPASS as its assessment tool.

Testing is free to all SC4 applicants. Assessment tests are offered Monday through Saturday in fall and winter semesters. Tests are taken in the Testing Center, Room 101, SC4's Citizens First Michigan Technical Education Center.

COMPASS testing for non-SC4 students

St. Clair County Community College proctors COMPASS testing to students who plan on attending other colleges and universities that require COMPASS testing as part of their entrance requirements. The cost to take the COMPASS test through St. Clair County Community College is $35. Those interested in this service must work with their home college to set up COMPASS testing at SC4.

You must pay in advance of taking the examinations. A copy of the receipt must be presented to Testing Center staff along with the email from the home college that contains the registration for the test. The $35 fee may be paid in the Business Office, Room 220, Main Building or by phone at (810) 989-5513. Personal checks are not accepted.

The following must be provided the day of testing:
  • $35 payment receipt
  • Registration number from the college or university to receive test scores. The registration number is required to login to eCOMPASS.
  • Photo ID
