InfoTracWeb Guide

InfoTracWeb is a Database Service providing 20 different individual databases. You can use InfoTrac Web to find various types of information on all topics:

  • Articles from Periodicals: Magazines, Newspapers, Scholarly & Professional Journals.
  • Information about Literature: Authors & their works, Criticism, Reviews, History of Literature, etc.
  • E-Reference Books: Encyclopedias on various topics; particularly useful for college research.
  • Health and Wellness Information: for students, professionals, and non-professionals.

To access InfoTracWeb:

Go to the Library homepage at www.sc4.edu/library

If you are on campus If you are off campus

1. Click on On-campus Databases

2. Click on InfoTracWeb

2. Click after: To access by entering your library card barcode

3. Enter all 14 digits of your library card barcode number, then your seven digit student ID number. (If your student ID number is less than seven digits, add zeros to the front to make it seven digits long.)

Critiques, reviews, and journal articles on authors and their works.

Literature Resource Center provides access to biographies, bibliographies, and critical analyses of authors from every age and literary discipline. Combining Gale Group's core literary databases in a single online service, the Literature Resource Center covers more than 120,000 novelists, poets, essayists, journalists, and other writers, with in-depth coverage of 2,500 of the most-studied authors.

These reference materials once were accessible only in the library, but now you can access them online from the library or remotely 24/7. Use this database to find articles in all major law reviews, law journals, specialty law and bar association journals and legal newspapers. Included are articles on Federal and State Cases, Laws and Regulations, Legal Practice, and Taxation. Also included are: British Commonwealth, European Union and International Law.

A premier source for peer-reviewed, full-text articles from the world's leading journals and reference sources. With extensive coverage of the physical sciences, technology, medicine, social sciences, the arts, theology, literature and other subjects, Academic OneFile is both authoritative and comprehensive.

If you have trouble getting into InfoTracWeb:

Go to Off-campus Database Help and try the suggestions there or try using mel.org. Because some of the InfoTracWeb databases are available to all Michigan residents, you can go to the Michigan Electronic Library at mel.org and use their version of these databases. You’ll need to login using your Michigan Driver’s License.
