1. LRC Display: Books on Teaching College Students

In honor of our valued teachers, we’ve placed a few interesting titles in the LRC display case. Let an LRC staff member know if you’d like to check-out any of these books - they’re there for your use.

2. EDUCAUSE: educational research reports, periodicals, and multimedia presentations

This website and their online magazine, EDUCAUSE Review , are a great resource for learning about H.E. Information Technologies including: online course development , digital game-based learning, teaching using PowerPoint, networking & emerging technologies, virtual meetings , podcast s, and all issues related to educating the next generation.

5. Federal Resources for Excellence in Education has added the following H.E. appropriate learning resources to its website . www.ed.gov/free/index.html

  • Ancient World Mapping Center offers free digital maps of the ancient world for educational use. For most maps, a blank version suitable for quizzes and customization is provided.
  • Moldenhauer Archives 130 music manuscripts, letters, essays by musicologists, etc. from a 3,500-item collection documenting the history of Western music: medieval period through the modern era.
  • Mathematics: Research Overview looks at topics of major research in mathematics: image creation, statistics, inverse problems, CPU testing, materials and nanotechnology, etc.
  • Water on the Web offers water science units and tools that help students understand and solve real environmental problems using advanced technology.
  • The Emergence of Modern America (1890-1930) (National Archives and Records Administration) Features the 1897 petition against the annexation of Hawaii, political cartoons on progressivism and the 1912 election, woman suffrage and the 19th Amendment, etc.
