Nursing Scholarship information

The following scholarships are available to students enrolled in a Nursing Program (either LPN or RN) at SC4. Scholarships are labeled to show if they are awarded based on MERIT, NEED or both.

MERIT Mary M. Barss Nursing Endowment Fund
Scholarship awarded to a nursing student with a 3.0 GPA or above. Award: $1,000 per year
 
 MERIT • NEEDBeacon Home Care Scholarship for Excellence in Nursing
Student must be the ADN program in the final two semesters. Must be enrolled in 12 credit hours or more, have a minimum GPA of 3.5, and must submit a written essay (1,000 words or less) describing your passion for nursing (why you want to become a nurse). Selection preference on academics, financial hardship and passion for nursing. Award: Varies
 
NEEDIrvin and Agnes Bedford Scholarship
Must be a second-year ADN, articulation RN, or last semester LPN. Must show financial need and maintain a 3.0 GPA or better. Recipient must be enrolled for a minimum of 6 credit hours. Award: $250 for fall semester
 
NEEDCardiology Associates of Port Huron Scholarship
An award will be made to a student enrolled in a Nursing program at SC4. Recipient must maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA and demonstrate financial need. Recipient must be enrolled for a minimum of 6 credit hours. Award: $1,000 per year
 
NEED Donna Jean Hale Memorial Scholarship
Student pursuing a Nursing major who demonstrates financial need. Must be full time with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Award: $750 per year
 
 MERITVelma Jean Kress Nursing Scholarship - Women's Life, Chapter 809
Two scholarships will be awarded to nursing students. Preferably one recipient will be a Port Huron Northern High School graduate and one will be a Port Huron High School graduate. Student must have a minimum 3.0 GPA. Application must include a one-page essay answering the question "Why I want to be a nurse?" Award: $750 per year
 
NEEDLeague of Catholic Women Scholarship
Two scholarships will be awarded; one for a sophomore Associate Degree Nursing student and one for a sophomore in any curriculum. Eligible students must also be full time and maintain a 3.0 GPA or higher. Financial need is considered. Award: $1,000 per year toward tuition
 
MERITMari-Lu Rea McDannel Scholarship – SC4 Foundation
Given to a female nursing student. Student must attend a minimum of 6 credit hours and have a 3.25 GPA. Award: $250 for fall and winter semester
 
MERITNursing Program Scholarship
Recipient must be enrolled in a Nursing curriculum with a minimum 3.3 GPA. Recipient must be enrolled for a minimum of 6 credit hours. Award: Varies
 
MERITPort Huron Hospital Auxiliary Scholarship
Awarded to a student in the final year of the ADN program or in the last semester of the LPN program. All recipients must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and provide two letters of recommendation from instructors. Recipient must be enrolled for a minimum of 6 credit hours. Award: $1,200 per year, ADN; $500 for Fall Semester, LPN
 
NEEDPrichard Nursing Scholarship
Awarded to a graduate of Port Huron High or Port Huron Northern High School entering the last year of the ADN program. Intent is to help a student with a financial need but barely not qualifying for other financial aid. Must have a minimum 2.0 GPA. Recipient must be enrolled for a minimum of 6 credit hours. Award: $1,000 for the year
 
MERIT • NEEDSydney Spofford Scholarship
Awarded to a single parent pursuing a Nursing major who demonstrates a financial need. Must have a minimum 3.0 GPA. Recipient must be enrolled for a minimum of 6 credit hours. Award: $600 per year ($300 each semester)
