The SC4 Foundation was chartered in 1963 by a group of visionary business and community leaders as a non-profit organization dedicated to assisting St. Clair County Community College in developing its educational program and expanding its facilities. The goal of the foundation is to raise friends and funds to benefit SC4 and the students it serves.

The foundation is governed by a 23-member board of directors. These community leaders provide management and direction for fund-raising campaigns undertaken to support the college.

The foundation welcomes internal and external support from the private sector for student scholarships, curriculum development, faculty research and training, student services, community events, college facilities and equipment, and other needs. Contributions may be accepted in the form of cash, publicly traded securities, personal property or gifts by will or trusts.
