SC4 Reach Out Off-Campus Work-Study Program

  • Earn $8.50 per hour.

  • Contribute to the community and to the lives of others.

 

SC4 Reach Out! is a collaborative program between SC4 and various non-profit agencies and schools. It provides SC4 students who are qualified for work-study funds with opportunities to be employed in local non-profit agencies or schools in positions where they are contributing to the community.

The options:

  • SC4 Reach Out! Community Service Program - Provides qualified students with opportunities to work in area non-profit organizations. Positions and responsibilities vary depending upon the agency but could range from office support to direct services to clients. Experiences could be relevant to a variety of career goals.
  • SC4 Reach Out! Tutoring Program - Provides students who are interested in teaching or working with children with opportunities to provide reading and math tutoring to elementary age children in the area schools.

Who is eligible?

SC4 work-study students are eligible to work in qualifying non-profit agencies and schools during fall and winter semesters. The number of hours a student works is dependent on the total amount of funds allocated in their financial aid package.

How much does it pay?

  • Students are paid an average wage of $8.50 per hour.
  • The hosting non-profit agency pays 25% or about $2.12 per hour and SC4 pays the remaining 75% of the student’s wage through work-study dollars.
  • Tutoring wages: The college pays 100% of the student’s wage through work-study dollars.
