Testing and Assessment

The Student Success Center offers academic, interest, and personality assessment to students and community members. Most assessments are free of charge to current students and are interpreted by an advisor. A nominal fee is charged per test for prospective students and community members. The office also provides information on a variety of other tests commonly used in college and program admissions.

Academic Assessments
The Academic Achievement Center provides academic assessments which are mandatory for placement in key college courses. These assessments are used by advisors for initial advising and must be completed prior to enrolling for the first semester of classes.

Interest Inventories
Interest inventories can be useful in career and educational planning. The Student Success Center offers a variety of interest inventories which are designed to assess and relate interests to career areas.

Personality Assessments
Personality assessments are designed to measure a wide variety of traits and characteristics and are useful in enhancing self-awareness and in making career decisions.

Other Assessments
Contact Career Services for information on the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT), American College Testing (ACT), and College Level Examination Program (CLEP) which are used by some colleges for admissions and decisions on placement and credits.
