Careers in Transportation

High-demand careers in the transportation and logistics field call for the latest training in technologies, such as radio frequency identification (RFID). New programs provide the skills you need to enter or advance in this dynamic career field. SC4 college credit certificate programs now available: Radio Frequency Identification Technology Transportation and Logistics Technology SC4 non-credit training program now available: Supply Chain Technologies Free training for companies now available: Transportation, distribution and logistics Other training programs under development at SC4: RFID Technology initial skill set – college credit Transportation and Logistics Technology initial skill set – college credit SC4 awarded $2 million federal grant to train workers for high demand jobs in southeast Michigan In March 2008, St. Clair County Community College was awarded a $2 million grant from the U.S. Department of Labor for program development and job training in the areas of transportation, distribution and logistics. The three-year, Community-Based Job Training Grant will provide the program and equipment to train more than 400 workers in the tracking and movement of goods, including: Existing workers in skills needed for career advancement. Unemployed workers in skills needed to get them back into the work force. New employees needing specialized training for their jobs. High school students who then would continue their training after graduation. Full story...
